Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Leads administrative support for scheduling of classes for the department, collaborating with the department chair, faculty, and program directors to create the class schedule, secure classroom space, and assign appropriate teaching formats.
- Works with the department chair and faculty to manage advising lists, process course overrides, respond to student inquiries (in-person, by email, or phone) and relay requests to the appropriate faculty.
- Coordinates and sends requests to web services and assists faculty with submissions for websites of the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work and the BSW (Bachelor of Arts in Social Work) Program.
- Co-manages departmental files with the Secretary V as directed by the department chair and program directors.
- Assists with managing student office workers.
- Coordinates with other staff, faculty and student workers to ensure the department is securely opened and closed daily.
- Manages and sorts emails from departmental accounts by forwarding to appropriate faculty as needed.
- Manages student paperwork, including routing to appropriate department(s) for processing and maintaining accurate records.
- Accesses student information in Banner and compiles requested reports.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as required.
