Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, USC Aiken

USC Aiken seeks applications for the position of Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management. The Associate Vice Chancellor provides primary administrative leadership and management to the staff and processes involved in Undergraduate Admissions, including first-year students, transfer students, and international students. This position reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management.

Core Duties Include

  • Facilitate the establishment of annual recruitment goals by student prospect type (freshman, transfer, etc.) in collaboration with the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (VCEM). Create and execute comprehensive strategic plans for recruitment and admission supported by the use of technology for communication flows, social media, and message development.
  • Lead, supervise, and actively manage staff in the execution of goals by establishing appropriate staff reporting structures and creating a supportive and collaborative environment for success and continuous professional development. Develop and implement strategic territory management plans to maximize regional enrollment goals.
  • Collaborate with various academic and administrative departments on campus to strengthen and clarify the campus image in support of admissions efforts and to ensure consistency of brand, timeliness of campaigns, and the creation of clear and compelling messages. Work with academic colleges, schools, and departments to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Lead ongoing training and cross-training for all Admissions Office personnel to foster professional growth and ensure exceptional service delivery. Evaluate and refine processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness, maintaining a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a job related field and at least 10 years of job related experience, including some prior management experience. Masters degree in a related field and knowledge of Banner and Slate preferred. Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Masters degree in a related field and knowledge of Banner and Slate preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Successful candidates are able to perform effectively in a highly competitive environment. Knowledge of best practices in recruiting students and shaping an incoming class required. Must have substantial knowledge of working in higher education enrollment management and a record of success in meeting enrollment goals. Knowledge of national enrollment and market trends, awareness of cutting edge strategies, and mastery of demographic information are a must. Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) and student information systems is expected, as is knowledge in using communication technologies to recruit and enroll students. Exceptional planning, budgeting and organizational skills are essential for this position, as is the ability to analyze data and review options to determine best strategy. Skilled in managing staff, with an ability to inspire and support their professional development is important. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills and a strong professional network. Candidates must possess strong intercultural competence and be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment. Candidates must be able to travel on occasion and work mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
