Assistant Director – Intramurals

Under the general direction of the Director of Campus Recreation, the Assistant Director, Intramurals, Sports Clubs and Camps leads the management of the Intramural program and administration and supervision of the Sports Club Program. The Assistant Director will function on the management team of the overall Campus Recreation program. Specific oversight of the Intramural Program, including scheduling, supervising and evaluation of all intramural contests. This position also serves as the director of the Summer Camp Program with specific oversight of promotion, registration and communication of camp materials and hiring, training and evaluation of camp counselors.
Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Requires valid driver’s license and good driving record. Successful background check is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience. Prefer experience in sports administration.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
This position will require additional evening duties and occasional weekend work. Some travel may be necessary with student groups. The general hours for this position are Monday- Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Knowledge of University Emergency Medical Procedures. Knowledge of rules for officiating athletic programs. Knowledge of program planning / management. Utilizes excellent organizational, team building and communication skills. Demonstrated capacity, skill and willingness to engage students, and contribute to student success.
