Coordinator for Campus Programs

The Coordinator for Campus Programs contributes to the success of the unit by coordinating the creation of a departmental calendar of robust offerings of student events and programs that lead to student success and retention, which may include late-night programming, campus traditions and other general unit initiatives. This role executes and manages events, advises students and student organizations, assists with branding for the unit, supports data collection and collaborates with external offices to ensure the programming and events are supporting a diverse study body.

Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of the basic principles and theories of student development, educational administration, and public relations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff and the general public, to identify, develop and implement programs and activities that will benefit the campus community, and to develop budgets and monitor expenditures. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and possess a great deal of flexibility. This position will be asked to flex time to work some nights and weekends for functions and events.

Event Management: Responsible for planning, managing, and organizing functions and events. Obtain all necessary services and supplies. Secure appropriate facility space. Care for patrons from marketing through implementation. Will execute contractual and payment procedures.

Student Enrichment: Support the development of students’ academic and personal goals. Provide opportunities for student engagement within the USC community through all phases of student leadership and/or employment. Work with the unit to create a calendar of offerings of student events and programs Including late-night programming, campus traditions and other initiatives. Additionally, this role will support the unit’s campus-wide branding efforts; develop, maintain, and adjust departmental budgetary account

Student Services: Contribute to the quality of students learning experience and academic success by transitioning students to a campus environment and meeting any specific academic resource needs they may have. Support and collect data and feedback regarding support and participation.

Financial Operations: Complete planning, analysis and control operations responsible for the management of funds. Ensure compliance with university policies, and state and federal laws and regulations

Administrative Support: Serve the administrative needs of the unit. Ensure effectiveness of daily operations of supported areas which may include contract management, data entry, assessment, records management, and assisting in the specific needs of the area.
