Assistant Director of Peer Leadership
- Would you enjoy working in a student-centered environment and hiring and training students?

- Do you have experience creating health education programming and facilitating presentations or training?
The Assistant Director of Peer Leadership is responsible for envisioning, planning, implementing, and evaluating peer health education, leadership, and community engagement initiatives that provide opportunities for students to engage in meaningful and inclusive health education experiences beyond the classroom. This Assistant Director will collaborate with on and off campus stakeholders to advance student well-being through the facilitation of presentations, training, initiatives, events, etc. Under the direct supervision of an Associate Director, the Assistant Director will train, direct, and oversee student workers performing various tasks associated with student well-being
Day to Day for this position:
- Coordinate the implementation of peer health education programs and community engagement initiatives
- Train, direct and oversee student employees
- Advise and support student organizations

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health promotion/education, public health, social work, or related field.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in student development, peer education, or student leadership, with a proven track record of successful outcomes
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of basic principles, practices, and theories affecting health and wellness.
- Training and/or experience in health education and promotion.
- Experience in leading activities within a Healthy Campus Initiative.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and maintain positive public relations.

- Manage recruitment, training, evaluation, and general oversight over the peer leadership program.
- Design and execute program goals that align with unit, department, division, and university priorities.
- Oversee scheduling and execution of peer-led health education presentations.
