Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
We seek applications for a Clinical Instructor appointment (9-month) to begin Fall 2025.
Responsibilities of the successful candidate include: 1) teaching undergraduate courses in the Early Childhood Education program; 2) engaging in program and curriculum development; 3) coordinating course scheduling, intern and university supervisors, teacher candidates, and coaching teachers; 4 ) supporting the service needs of the Early Childhood program, the Teacher Education department, and the College of Education; and 5) other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Candidates must have an earned master’s degree in early childhood/elementary education with a concerntration in literacy, or a related field. Experience with online teaching/learning delivery platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) with an ability to incorporate innovative pedagogies around school/community-based learning and literacy education is required. Must have excellent teaching skills, the ability to mentor undergraduate students and teacher candidates; evidence of a continued record of professional development and scholarly productivity, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues. Candidates with at least three years of experience working with elementary and/or teaching at a K-5 elementary school that serves students from underserved and underrepresented communities will be given strong consideration. Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students is desired.
