Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy is recruiting for a pharmacy resident position of 1-year duration. The resident pharmacist will be hired as a Clinical Instructor in the COP. The resident is expected to perform applicable duties associated with a clinical partner Tandem Health.
The duties include conducting patient care duties fulfilled through rotational experiences as outlined by residency leadership and the affiliated clinical partner. To conduct quality initiatives and a major research project as approved by residency leadership adhere to American Society of Health-System Pharmacists residency standards related to practice, research, and professionalism. To attend required conferences, meetings, and professional development opportunities outlined by residency leadership. To Complete the Clinical Teaching Certificate program through the College of Pharmacy.

This position is from July 1, 2024 – June 30th 2025.

Required Education and Experience
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited College/School of Pharmacy PGY1 and PGY2
For PGY2 positions only, completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 program
Available for pharmacist licensure in the state of South Carolina

Preferred Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited College/School of Pharmacy PGY1 and PGY2
For PGY2 positions only, completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 program.
Available for pharmacist licensure in the state of South Carolina

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication teaching skills, adequate clinical competence, professional ethics, and sufficient clinical experience.

Completion of a PGY1 residency from an ASHP-accredited program.
