Coordinator for Research and External Relations
The Coordinator for Research and External Relations operates under general supervision to support the NRC community, both in-person and online, and ensure their access to key resources and publications. To this end, this position collaborates with the Assistant Director for Resources and External Relations and the Division of Student Affairs’ communications team to develop and distribute content via the Center’s social media channels, email accounts, and listservs and supports publication and resource development processes.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

In partnership with the Assistant Director, execute the Center’s marketing and communications strategy for events, online courses, publications, and research. Create content for and complete all mass email sends for the Center via AxiosHQ. Manage all contacts in the Center’s database to ensure that all email send lists are up to date. Create content for and manage all Center social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube).

Across all NRC channels and platforms, seek to build and strengthen the NRC community. Oversee the NRC’s private LinkedIn group, including adding members, monitoring posts, responding to questions, and tagging relevant team members to provide expert responses. Monitor the Center’s main email account. Respond to all emails in a timely manner and forward messages to other NRC teams for a response, as needed. Oversight of the Center’s six listservs focused on the first-year experience and students in transition.

Support the publications arm of the NRC by serving as a reviewer for the Journal of the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition, Insights for College Transitions, and all books for publication. Manage the Center’s resources library. Serve as the Center’s liaison with the university’s Thomas Cooper Library for all publications placements and availability. Submit new requests for ISBN #’s and Library of Congress data for all new publications. Create tracking URLs for all Journal of the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition articles and articles published in partnership with external organizations. Coordinate distribution lists for all printed publications with the Center’s administrative specialist.
