Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
The Fiscal Analyst serves in the Office of the Dean within the College of Engineering and Computing. This position is responsible for managing and analyzing start-up accounts for faculty, managing all internal college accounts, performing account reconciliations, processing various accounting actions, deposits, ED foundation check requests, reviewing and analyzing transactions, and assisting with various budget-related duties.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with USC systems such as Peoplesoft Finance and HCM. Familiarity with USC policies and procedures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of basic accounting principles. Ability to perform reconciliations of multiple accounts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of or ability to learn PeopleSoft. Ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities and conflicting timelines. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, experience with Access, Word, and Outlook.

Perform monthly reconciliation on all college accounts. Process accounting related actions to such as journal entries (JE), purchase orders (PO), and request for payments (RFP) for the college. Process deposits for the college

Monitor and track expenditures to ensure compliance with college and university policies and procedures. Provide faculty and staff reports on Startup accounts as needed. Perform research on transactions as needed, and report findings.

Monitor adequacy of policies and procedures regarding ED foundation transactions, and provide input on changes needed. Provide faculty and staff reports on ED foundation accounts as needed. Perform monthly reconciliation of ED foundation accounts. Perform research on transactions as needed, and report findings.
