Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires 2 or more years of job related experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
S.C. pesticide applicator’s license or able to successfully complete requirements for
license during employee probationary period. Must have valid S.C. driver’s license.

Knowledgeable in the care and maintenance of plants, trees, flowers and shrubs. Ability to

independently and make decisions. Skill in interpersonal communication to effectively interact with University personnel and public in person and over the phone. Written communication skills. Ability to diagnose problems with lawns, flowers, shrubs, etc., and determine appropriate action (e.g. Identify treatment for diseased trees, etc.). Skill in grounds maintenance (e.g., applying sprays, planting, pruning, trimming, transplanting, etc.) and safety procedures. Skill in use of hand and power tools.
