Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, and reporting to the Director of Human Resources, coordinates a variety of professional duties in the administration of human resources programs for the USC School of Medicine Greenville (SOMG). Assist in Payroll reporting. Assists in the coordination of the enrollment process and assists in conducting employee benefit/retirement/leave training. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations. Coordinates and plans various human resources-related functions to include: processing research grant position (RGP) reappointments, processing affiliate hires, assist in the coordination of the EPMS process, processing position description updates (department, supervisor, hours, location, etc), and special human resources-related projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer working knowledge of fundamental principles related to insurance, pension, and/or benefits administration. Supplemental knowledge of leave polices (FMLA, Sick/Annual Leave, etc.) and Worker’s Compensation. PEBA experience preferred. Prefer experience with hiring of staff, faculty, and students in compliance with USC Policies and procedures. HCM PeopleSoft and PeopleAdmin experience a plus. Experience in collecting, generating, and presenting data concerning human resources issues helpful.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Knowledge of regulations, laws, processes and procedures concerning state-covered insurance and pension benefits. Knowledge and use of Microsoft office products. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to policies, procedures and regulations.
