Instructor/Director of Simulation
The School of Nursing (SON) at the University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA) invites applications for a Instructor/Director of Simulation. This is a full-time 12-month non-tenured track faculty position directly reporting to the Dean of the SON and responsible for the oversight of the simulation program. The expected start date is July 1, 2025.
Requirements: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. Possessing an unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing, individuals should have at least three years of experience working in a simulation program. Knowledge of simulation equipment and software is required. Applicants must be a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or have plans to take the CHSE exam before December 31, 2025. Applicants must be able to perform all duties of a clinical instructor in various settings including, but not limited to, physical requirements. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
The duties and responsibilities of the Instructor/Director of Simulation include ensuring all simulation activities are high quality and comply with simulation best practices, train and support SON faculty related to simulation activities, design and implement annual faculty development related to best practices in simulation pedagogy, develop strategies to enhance the simulation program and services, maintain an inventory of simulation equipment and resources, order supplies annually and as needed, perform all maintenance on simulation equipment, develop and maintain the simulation strategic plan aligning with the SON and USCA strategic plans, oversee the review and revision of simulation policies and procedures, identify and analyze simulation program metrics, perform ongoing simulation program evaluation, and submit an annual report to the Dean inclusive of outcome data measurement and future growth opportunities.
