The School of Accounting in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina is seeking a Managing Director for the Master of Accountancy Program (MACC Director). This is a full-time staff position that manages the operations of the MACC program. Responsibilities include recruitment and admissions, current student progression and retention, and other duties as required. Some travel is required. While not required, teaching opportunities may be available.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 4 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Masters in a related field and related experience in client-customer support roles, project management roles, or business development/sales roles.

- Respond to inquiry emails received from the MACC landing page.
- Follow up with students who have started applications but have not submitted them and students who have submitted applications but are missing materials.
- Review GMAT waiver applications and prepare review packets for the committee, if needed.
- Evaluate program applications in Target-X duties, include:
- Review transcripts and resumes for alignment with admission criteria.
- Conduct interviews if admission criteria are met.
- Prepare and send admission letters and fellowship award notifications to students who are offered admission.
- Submit student recommendations for admission to the graduate school for admitted students.
- Plan and manage Decision in a Day event(s), including:
- Coordinating interviewers and applicants.
- Preparing admission letters and financial awards.
- Reserving space in DMSB.
- Planning and ordering food for in-person events.
- Lead and facilitate online and in-person recruiting and information sessions.
- Travel to schools within the state and southeastern region to recruit high-quality students.

- Onboard students entering the MACC program, ensuring the completion of tasks such as:
- Paying the $1,000 deposit.
- Accessing SSC and the MACC Blackboard page.
- Setting up university IDs.
- Submitting required university documents, including:
- Student immunization records
- Citizenship verification forms.
- SC Legal Residency documentation (if applicable).
- Plan and coordinate fall and spring orientation events.
- Advise students on course registration by:
- Updating course offerings spreadsheets each semester.
- Reviewing plan-of-study submissions and providing necessary feedback.
- Lifting advisement holds in SSC.
- Providing course registration overrides when needed.
- Guide students through the CPA exam application process, including:
- Explaining state-specific requirements for sitting for the exam.
- Keeping up to date with CPA licensure requirements across various states.
- Providing materials to simplify the process.
- Holding CPA Exam “Town Halls”.
- Submit financial awards to the graduate school.
- Identify and resolve account issues if students’ bills are incorrect.

- Plan and facilitate MACC Student Association events alongside student officers.
- Monitor student’s academic performance:
- Review grades after each semester
- Coordinate MACC committee grade meetings when necessary.
- Perform graduation-related duties:
- Review and submit MPOS forms.
- Approve graduation clearances for each student.
- Notify students of key dates, such as hooding and the deadline to apply for graduation.
- Provide information about regalia orders.
- Participate in key events:
- Attend December and May hooding ceremonies.
- Coordinate and lead ACCT 700 meetings, 2-3 each semester.
- Serve as a liaison between students and faculty, as needed.
- Maintain an active presence on campus to provide students with easy access to guidance on:
- Advising
- CPA exam
- Personal or academic concerns
- Manage Graduate Assistantship assignments:
- Ensure student quality meets faculty expectations.
- Submit hiring justifications.
- Notify students of required training sessions.
- Address personnel issues as they arise.
- Coordinate MACC course scheduling with Cynthia Parker and project course enrollments.
- Prepare and send out end-of-semester feedback surveys.
