Advertised Job Summary
- Reviews and examines documents to procure goods and services as related to procurement by determining the best procurement method. Uses formal bidding process for the University of South Carolina and system campuses as required.
- Reviews purchase requisitions with attention as to proper expenditure, authorization and funding. Apprise requisitioners of items available through state contracts, other alternate potential suppliers and University term contracts.
- Serves as liaison between the Purchasing Department and University community and vendors.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Knowledge of University policies and procedures as it relates to procurement.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of University policies and procedures as it relates to procurement. A knowledge of University funding sources and SC Consolidated Code. Proficiency in computer operations and working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Ability to collect, compile and assemble information in a clear and concise manner; to present ideas effectively, orally and in writing; to organize and maintain data (computer and hardcopy) effectively; to establish and maintain working relationships; and to communicate effectively with department personnel and general public.
