The Recruitment Manager provides support to the recruitment program for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Recruitment Manager will implement recruiting strategies year-round in locations dependent upon the needs of the office to maintain university representation across the country and the state. This position requires periods of extensive travel as well as night and weekend work.
The Recruitment Manager will serve as the primary campus liaison for the regional recruiter teams. This includes but is not limited to: Coordinating and managing schedules for recruiters when they are on-campus for their initial interviews, training, and when they make subsequent trips to campus; attending all team meetings to share campus updates; and assisting with inventory and mailing of materials to recruitment staff.
The Recruitment Manager will also primarily be responsible for managing the Gamecock Alumni Recruitment Network (GARNet) program. This includes maintaining an active database of alumni and parent recruiters and providing them with regular training, communication and opportunities to get involved.
The Recruitment Manager will review applications for admission to USC, as well as for the university’s honors college and top scholarship programs. They will also serve as liaison with other campus offices and academic units of the university. The Recruitment Manager will take an active role in proposing new and creative ideas and content to ensure prospective students have been personally, effectively, and knowledgeably served, while working for the highest yield of enrolled students from the admitted group.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

- Knowledge and familiarity of USC.
- Background experience in admissions, customer service, marketing, sales, public relations, or another student personnel area.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Relate well to people, have an engaging personality, and be able to speak with confidence in front of groups, including making public presentations before large groups of people.
- Exceptional customer service skills to ensure positive, brand-promoting interactions with prospective students/families, guidance counselors, and other constituents.
- Exceptional workplace flexibility and travel-planning skills.
- Able to effectively build relationships with constituents.
- Knowledge of secondary and post-secondary school systems.
- Able to read and evaluate academic credentials as well as market data for assigned territories.

Active recruitment of a nationwide pool of students through extensive travel to target high schools, college fairs, receptions, evening and day programs, personal communication, and related activities. Log all activities in admissions CRM. Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries in person, by phone and in writing. Maintain and document regular contact with students, parents, and high school counselors; thoroughly document expenses related to recruitment travel. Handle speaking engagements. When in-house, conduct weekly informational sessions, assist with coverage, walk-in visitors, on-campus events as needed.

Manage and oversee the Gamecock Alumni Recruitment Network (GARNet) program which includes recruiting, onboarding, training and coordinating all recruitment efforts for approximately 30-50 alumni and parent recruiters nationwide. Work with regional recruiters to identify new alumni and parents to participate and explore new opportunities for them to get involved in their respective territories. Maintain consistent communication and outreach with GARNet members to ensure they are trained and knowledgeable of the ways in which they get involved in admissions recruitment.
