As the Tableau Trainer, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging training sessions that accommodate users with varying levels of experience in Tableau, from beginners to advanced users. You will work closely with data experts and department heads across the University to ensure that training aligns with both technical requirements and organizational goals.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job-related field and 3 or more years of job-related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job-related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Tableau, including creating dashboards and visualizations.
- Proven experience in training or teaching others, either through formal instruction or in a mentoring/coaching capacity.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical users.
- Experience in developing training programs and creating clear, concise instructional materials.
- Familiarity with Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop, including user permissions, data sources, and Tableau’s integration with other platforms.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders across multiple departments and effectively understand their needs.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of Tableau tools, including Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep.
- Knowledge of data visualization principles, best practices, and business intelligence concepts.
- Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, and data preparation techniques.

- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for Tableau-related issues.
