Essential Functions
Job Summary
Function:
- Assist head coach to provide management in all facets of the softball program.
Scope:
- Responsible for recruiting prospective student-athletes, on field training/coaching, leading development in assigned focus area, student-athlete welfare initiatives, academics, scheduling, retention, and fundraising, with the university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Duties
Typical:
- Perform duties assigned by the head coach.
- Recruit high quality student-athletes.
- Assist head coach with coaching/training relating to proper techniques.
- Assist with student-athlete development welfare programs.
- Assist with team operation responsibilities.
- Assist with scheduling.
- Build professional relationships with staff and student-athletes.
- Assist with all administrative processes, especially business office and compliance
- Maintain knowledge of NCAA, AAC, UTSA, UT System rules and/or regulations.
- Assist with and support the coordination of the various booster, fundraising and community programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Periodic:
- Represent the university/softball program at off-campus functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Three years of related professional experience as a softball coach.
- Requires specific knowledge in the sport of Softball, and knowledge and compliance with all NCAA, AAC, State of Texas and UTSA rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office, standard office equipment and all equipment used in softball.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience working with a division I softball program.
Working Conditions
- Physical activity in Softball.
- Work requires weekend and evening hours as well as travel.
