Responsible for the design, implementation and supervision of yearlong strength and conditioning programs designated by immediate supervisor.
Associate/Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Duties:
- Assists in all aspects of assigned athletic programs.
- Designs, implements and supervises the yearlong strength and conditioning programs designated by immediate supervisor.
- Aids in supervision of the athletic weight room.
- Aids in cleanliness and upkeep of athletic weight room and equipment.
- Travels with designated sport team or teams when in-season.
- Communicates with sports medicine staff daily.
- Communicates with sport coach or coaches daily.
- Attends professional development opportunities as approved by supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Assistant Strength Conditioning Coach Additional Duties:
- Aid in supervision of Graduate Assistants, Interns and Work Study Students
Associate Strength Conditioning Coach Additional Duties:
- Serves as the second in command of Strength and Conditioning department.
- Aids in supervision of staff.
- Assumes role as internship coordinator (interview and hire interns each semester) as well as work study coordinator.
- Aids in internship development program.
- Assists in oversight of annual budget in conjunction with supervisor.
- Coordinates weight room schedule with sport coaches practice times and student athlete academic schedules.
- Aids in search for new strength and conditioning staff members.
Required Qualifications
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach:
- Two years of experience working at a college/university or with elite level athletes.
Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach:
- Three years of experience working at a college/university or with elite level athletes.
Associate/Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field of study
- USAW certification substitutes for one year of experience
- CPR and Basic First Aid certification
- CSCS or SCCC Certification
- Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Driving license history check
- Criminal Background Check (CBC)
Working Conditions
- Ten-to-fourteen-hour days on the floor coaching, on the field coaching and in office.
- Weekend, holiday and summer hours are required.
