Salary Range: Up to $36,500 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, non-exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

Assist in the coordination of services and programs that create an environment in which the student is offered individual attention.

Core Responsibilities

• Responsible for advising and problem-solving with Graduate students regarding registration, admissions, college procedures and any other needs as determined by assigned department(s).
• Maintains knowledge of current processes and procedures of financial aid and regulations for federal financial aid.
• Assists with application review, data entry, processing, and award determination.
• Maintains student records and documentation.
• Evaluates, calculates transcripts, and submits required reports for review.
• Acts as a liaison between students and other departments. Refers students to appropriate University offices.
• Participates in professional conferences and individual professional development.
• Takes a proactive approach to assist co-workers in various tasks, to ensure safety.
• Performs work tasks in a safe manner and in accordance with work instructions.
• Proactively makes recommendations to improve safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of standard office equipment.
• Demonstrated skills in oral communication or customer service.

Working Conditions

• Office environment.
• Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.
• Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
• Majority of time spent in contact with students.
• May participate in meetings and conferences, concerning student or professional affairs, beyond the usual office hours.

Physical Demands:

• Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
• Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

This position will require working both remotely in Texas and on UTSA Downtown campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
