JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Chief Operation Officer/Physicians Group, the Clinic Manager is responsible for daily operations, clinical and business management of the Clinic. Accountable for patient flow process, staffing and coordination of resources within the clinic. Works closely with physician billing, coding and finance departments to maximize clinical revenues and minimize operating expenses. Maintains clinic operations to comply with policy and procedures and Joint Commission regulations. Directs all clinical operations to fulfill the mission and vision of the organization.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/CRITICAL TASKS
- Directly responsible for the supervision of clerical and clinical staff within assigned practices. Responsible for the daily operation of the department.
- Oversees all phases of operation in the department.
- Responsible for interviewing, training and assigning new personnel.
- Evaluates and maintains records of performance and recommends promotion or disciplinary action.
- Assures proper personnel coverage for all diagnostic areas.
- Provide clinical support and assist with daily operations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technical skills expected of a licensed person in this capacity.
- Meet annual requirements for basic CPR certification, infection control, and safety.
- Provide internal and external customers with a service that assures they are listened to, understood, cared for and treated fairly, courteously, intelligently, and respectfully.
- Participate in hospital-wide and clinic quality assurance activities when assigned.
- Carry out physician’s therapeutic plan of care and orders.
- Delegate duties to other personnel commensurate with their educational proficiency and job description, as needed.
- Complete appropriate documents as required (ex. patient charge forms, medication lists.)
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in performing special tests properly. (Vision, Audiometry, Urine Drug Testing, Tonometry, TB skin test placement and reading and Breath Alcohol Testing.)
- Demonstrates knowledge of employee Health issues, including assessing and coordinating care for an employee with a blood borne exposure, assessing, referral and follow up toxicity visits for an employee with a positive TB test, implementing employee immunizations as needed and documentation of these events.
- Compliance with Human Resource Policies, including time and attendance, non-discrimination and affirmative action, and mandatory training compliance.
- Financial Activities: Ensures segregation of duties, timely and accurate monthly reconciliation of statements of account; accurate preparation of annual budget; monitoring of budget to assure appropriate spending.
- Accountable for the identification and reduction of unsafe practices that could cause harm to patients.
- Supports and promotes system-wide activities related to adequate hand hygiene and the prevention of healthcare associated infections.
- Other duties as assigned.
ACCOMPANYING KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of leadership/management/organizational development, assessment protocols, change management strategies, and processes.
- Ability to motivate and coach individuals.
- Standard hospital/clinic related office equipment.
- Standard Medical equipment such as IV pumps, portable oxygen
- Standard equipment used in Vision, Audiometry testing, Tonometry and Breath Alcohol Testing.
- EMR experience
- Bilingual a plus
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field.
- Five (5) years clinical experience with at least two (2) years’ experience in Occupational Health Clinic preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/ CERTIFICATION
- Maintain current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
- COHN preferred at hire or ability to acquire certification within 12 months of eligibility.
- Certification in Breath Alcohol Testing, Hearing Conservation, and Drug Screen collection competency preferred.
