Purpose of Position
The Cybersecurity Awareness Project Manager is responsible for our security awareness and education program. Ultimately this role will be to reduce risk to our organization by ensuring all employees, staff and contractors know, understand, and follow our security requirements and behave in a secure manner. As part of this role, the Program Manager will create a strategy for program development, logistics, and execution developing training programs in support of internal and external stakeholders
Essential Functions
- Develop and Implement Employee Engagement Programs :
Create and sustain a positive program that engages employees, focusing on promoting secure behaviors both at home and at work. Ensure employees demonstrate consistent secure behaviors regardless of their location or the devices they use.
Identify the primary human risks to the organization and the necessary behavioral changes to mitigate these risks. Develop and maintain a security awareness program that effectively modifies these behaviors, ensuring employees act securely and reduce organizational risk.
Ensure the security awareness program complies with all industry regulations, standards, and state compliance requirements.
Manage contracts with software vendors, cloud services, consultants, event venues, hotels, exhibitors, caterers, and other stakeholders to support various program activities.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. Participation in TRS is mandatory.
A background check will be conducted on candidates under final consideration.
