Position Title : Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Finance and Administration

Position Summary
The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) seeks a mission-driven, experienced, highly collegial, and collaborative finance leader to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA).
As the University continues to advance strategic priorities that were set forth in 2018 and approaches its 150th anniversary, it has embarked on a strategic planning process focused on identifying opportunities to further advance its mission. The VPFA will engage in this strategic planning process.
Job Duties
Reporting directly to the President, the VPFA is responsible for the stewardship of the institution’s financial, physical, and human resources, overseeing a range of key campus leaders :
- Associate Vice President for Business & Finance / Comptroller
- Associate Vice President for Planning & Campus Facilities Management
- Associate Vice President for Human Resources
- University Police Chief
- Director of Budgeting, Planning, & Analysis
- Director of Environmental Health, Safety, & Risk Management
- Manager, Vehicle Service
The VPFA works closely with other members of the President’s leadership team, deans, department chairs, Faculty Senate, and others to ensure the effective and equitable application of UIW’s resources in the advancement of its mission.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required Education
A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
Required Work Experience
Significant leadership experience in the areas of budget and finance, preferably within an institution of higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
A graduate degree and / or Certified Public Accountant license is preferred.
