Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing, planning, directing and coordinating the daily accounting operations of the professional schools and the general ledger accounting for UIW. This involves performing routine and complex accounting and analytical work. The Accounting Manager reports to the Assistant Comptroller.

Job Duty Name Manage Financial Operations for Professional Schools
Description of Job Duties
Implement and monitor financial controls for the Schools of Osteopathic Medicine, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy and Nursing and Health Professions, as well as TIGMER.
Conduct financial analysis of school activities and reconcile related accounts.
Prepare and/or review journal entries for adjustments as needed and manage the accounting for enrollment for all professional schools each semester.
Serve as liaison to other financial service areas.
Train school personnel, as appropriate.

Description of Job Duties
Manage clinical operations financial controls for the Optometry school, Nursing Cardinal Wellness Center, and health services.
Supervise Accounting Coordinator position, to include assigning work, providing training, and approving reconciliations and journal entries into Banner System from the various EMR systems.
Conduct physical inventories related to clinic operations.
Manage cash receipting and preparation of numerous bank reconciliations.

Description of Job Duties
Review and approve quarterly and annual stand alone financial statements for the School of Osteopathic Medicine, and TIGMER.
Review and approve quarterly and annual statement of activities, statement of financial position and cash flow reports.
Assist with the preparation of the UIW and IWEF quarterly and annual financial statements.
Prepare audit work-papers and provide assistance to auditors as needed for annual year end audit engagement.

Assist Assistant Comptroller as needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to apply accounting principles and practices to non-profit accounting.
Ability to prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses, as well as interpret and analyze financial documents and reports.
Ability to analyze, review, and reconcile accounts.
Ability to analyze and evaluate accounting problems. Ability to prepare and review work papers for internal and external audits.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting.
Required Work Experience
Three (3) to five (5) years of professional accounting experience.
Two (2) years of experience in a lead or supervisory role in the field of accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
Non-profit accounting experience.
Master’s Degree.
CPA.
Banner experience.
