This position is responsible for assisting the Emergency Management Director with collaborative planning, organizing, directing and controlling all aspects of the Emergency Management program. In addition this position is responsible for promoting and fostering positive internal and external Emergency Management relationships with partners. Additionally, this position will act as a catalyst between the department and its customers, staff and employees at all levels to ensure continuity and quality of service and care provided by Emergency Management. This position has no responsibility for providing direct patient care.

- Actively engages staff with updates and news as well as involving staff in decisions and work teams. Provides feedback and recognition when appropriate.

- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
- Knowledge of assigned department's area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors.
Qualifications
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in a related area of assignment, or the equivalency.
- Four years of more progressively more responsible management experience.
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) in Emergency Management Certificate within one (1) year of employment.
Qualifications (Preferred)

- Emergency Management training, education and experience.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
- This position involves light work that may exert up to 20 pounds regularly and may consistently require light work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects involving patient and employee safety. The incumbent plays a critical role in preparing the organization in case of an emergency or wide-spread disaster and will be a key team member in the event of a disruption of patient care or business services, which may involve environmental hazards.
