As the Youth Education Director, you will oversee all aspects of the Youth Education programs, including Club U, Campus Camps, and PATHS . In this leadership role, you’ll manage a team of six year-round staff and provide guidance to over 40 seasonal employees. This position is ideal for a collaborative leader who excels at building meaningful connections within a close-knit team and across academic and auxiliary departments.

Responsibilities

Program Oversight & Management

  • Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of the Youth Education programs (Club U, Campus Camps, PATHS , ACT Prep, etc.).
  • Ensure that all programs meet their curricular objectives and create a sense of belonging for youth and their families at the university.
  • Ensure that the programs and their teams embody Youth Education’s values.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support six year-round employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, provide performance feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development.
  • Recruit, hire, and train staff as necessary to support program growth and operations.
  • Set and maintain standards for program quality, safety, and compliance with university policies and relevant regulations.

Strategic Planning & Evaluation

  • Achieve Youth Education revenue, enrollment, curricular, and engagement goals.
  • Guide the development, outcomes, and range of topics across all Youth Education program curricula in collaboration with the program managers.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for program growth and sustainability, including expansion of program offerings and participant engagement in collaboration with the program managers and the Senior Director of Personal Enrichment Programs.
  • Collaborate with UCL leadership to align program objectives with broader institutional goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, using data and feedback to inform continuous improvement.

Financial Management

  • Manage program budgets (collaboratively with the program managers), including tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Personal Enrichment on fundraising initiatives and proposals.

Community Engagement & Partnership Development

  • Drive the marketing and outreach efforts for all Youth Education programs to connect with new audiences, build a strong community, and grow.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus departments, community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to promote and support program success.
  • Represent the university and programs at events, presentations, and communications with parents and participants.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

Experience managing youth summer camps, preferably at an institution of higher education.

Experience developing STEAM curriculum for youth 5-17 years old.

Experience with Salesforce and/or the ability to learn new tools quickly and operationalize them.

Experience managing a small team.

Experience with marketing and messaging to a parent-youth audience.
