WORK SCHEDULE
- FULL-TIME; 40 HOURS PER WEEK; 100% FTE
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Directs all aspects of inpatient therapies at the UWMC on both the Montlake and NW Campuses. This includes inpatient rehabilitation therapy departments at both campuses (physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, and durable medical equipment specialist team). This position will have oversight of three departments at each campus (for a total of 6). This position also partners with the CARF accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit leadership to provide quality care for a complex patient population. This position ensures coordination of therapies across the multitude of diverse inpatient care areas, including direction and oversight of therapy directed care across two campuses. This director will be responsible for all aspects of operations including fiscal, personnel, quality improvement, productivity and care coordination.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- 20%: Personnel management: Hiring, orientation coordination, staff rounding, employee evaluations, mentoring, coaching, individual performance improvement and personnel record management
- 20%: Quality improvement: Including but not limited to leading and participating in initiatives that improve patient care across all hospital units (including an inpatient rehab unit, acute care units, adult intensive care units, and neonatal intensive care unit) and/or provided by occupational, physical and/or speech therapists. Examples included: improving coordination of care, early mobility, fall prevention, creation of care pathways, patient satisfaction initiatives, etc.
- 10%: Participating in and leading strategic plan development for inpatient therapy services
- 25%: Fiscal management including billing, productivity, budget development, budget monitoring, benchmarking, and finance reporting
- 5%: Supervision of schedule creation, payroll, vacation granting, leave processing
- 10%:Quality audits, EMR development/improvement, incident report resolution
- 5%: Patient rounding to ensure provision of therapy meets standards
- 5%:Leading staff meetings and other QI projects
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct supervision of 5 therapy managers and 1 manager of Program Operations- Durable Medical Equipment.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree in Physical, Occupation or Speech Therapy
- WA State license in Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy
- At least 3 or more years of clinical experience and 5 or more years of management experience
