The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Study Coordinator 2 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) to join their team.
This position administratively supports collection and distribution of clinical annotation and biospecimens for research, including clinical trial research. This position has operational access to patient health information and clinical materials including pathology specimens and archival blocks and slides, and for these activities must adhere to the covered entity HIPPA Privacy and CLIA rules and has 'dotted line' reporting to the CLIA certificate holders and applicable clinical laboratory management staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review clinic and OR schedules and screen patient cases per research protocols. Abstract clinical data.
Communicate with research teams on clinical histories, collection statuses, processes and timelines. Develop project plans, statements of work (SOW) and budgets. Create collection and clinical data reports for research teams.
Create, maintain and update procedure documents and assist with implementation of procedures to assure protocol compliance and research data quality that are compliant with all policies and regulations regarding specimen research in human subjects including of industry, of the institutions involved in the use of research specimens and data, and state and federal regulations.
Assist with the organization and migration of data and files to new electronic systems.
Participate in staff and researcher meetings to ensure projects are moving toward timely completion.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience coordinating the operations of clinical, biomedical, or behavioral research studies involving human subject
OR
equivalent education/experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree in applicable field such as Biology or Biology Subspecialty
Current knowledge of Anatomic Pathology processes, including College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements and Human Subjects requirements.
Experience with Biospecimen Management Software and Clinical Laboratory Information Systems
