Position Summary
This position plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing UW-La Crosse’s visual presence, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across print and web. Working collaboratively with the campus community and within University Marketing & Communications (UComm), this individual will focus on both content creation and design, implementing engaging and interactive web content while adhering to university branding guidelines. This role also involves project management, client service, and supporting broader marketing and communication initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Communications or related field
OR
- five years professional experience in related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in communications or customer service.
- Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), web and social media analytics
- Process-orientation with an interest in simplifying, streamlining and standardization
- Proficiency with Apple and/or Windows operating systems and Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
- Basic experience in HTML, web design, and UI/UX principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service focus
- Customer-focused branding and promotion skills
- Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between traditional print design and digital/multimedia.
- Strong organizational skills, particularly planning, managing deadlines, and evaluating project progress
- Ability to meet and work effectively with people across multiple levels of the organization and to convey complex subject matter in an understandable and interesting style.

Create and mange web and print content
Duties to Support Responsibility
- Develop and maintain media and content for UWL’s marketing and communication efforts, both for print and digital, that highlight the many facets of the university
- Participate in a team environment on the administration of the university website: implement online content and website changes using HTML, CSS and basic scripting within the university’s content management system (Optimizely CMS, formerly Episerver) with a focus on design
- Create versatile materials that can both be printed or displayed in an online format.
- Provide customer support, participate in training and create resources in regards to web content best practices and content management operating procedures for a campus community with varied technical abilities
