Job Summary :
The Human Resources Specialist supports and facilitates multiple human resource processes at Inland. These include employee relations issues, new hire onboarding and offboarding, New Employee Orientation, employee engagement events and activities, employee communication, performance management, termination processes, recruitment and pre-hire activities, benefits assistance, leaves of absence / FMLA, payroll, environmental, health and safety support, and training and development activities and events. This role provides administrative support by conducting research, preparing reports, handling information requests, performing clerical functions such as file maintenance, HRIS entry, documentation maintenance, and by conducting general office administrative tasks such as receiving visitors, answering telephones, and scheduling meetings. The Human Resources Specialist will have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with various human resources team members on projects, from conception to completion. They must work under pressure to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion and diplomacy. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Serves as the first point of contact for employee inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, addressing basic employee questions and concerns related to HR policies, benefits, leave of absence, payroll, and other HR-related topics, efficiently and accurately, using research as needed.
- Escalates complex issues to appropriate HR team member, managers, or sr. leadership for further resolution.
- Provides day to day support for HR project and initiatives such as annual open enrollment and other benefits related items, training programs, onboarding and offboarding activities. This also includes managing employee files, handling HR inquiries, and assisting with HR projects.
- Provides guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution. Counsels and supports managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure that all performance actions are properly managed and documented.
- Conducts investigations and resolve workplace issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Ensures confidentiality of employee data and information.
- Assists in the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting initial phone screens, and scheduling interviews.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Spends appropriate time on the "production floor" learning processes and building rapport with employees and managers.
- Assists with the development and dissemination of HR communications to employees, such as announcements and policy updates.
- Assures company policy and practice is administered appropriately throughout assigned support areas and across the entire organization.
- Learns payroll system and processes and serves as a primary payroll back up. Processes payroll two times annually.
- Generates reports and analyze HR data as needed.
- Verifies common areas and conference rooms are clean, well-supplied, and reflective of a professional working environment.
