Job Summary:

Are you passionate about the mission of public broadcasting and driven to make a meaningful impact in the world of fundraising? As the Individual Giving Manager at PBS Wisconsin, you'll play a key role in shaping and executing strategies to engage high-value donors, nurture relationships, and support the organization's mission of delivering trusted, impactful programming to Wisconsin. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to oversee essential fundraising systems, manage prospect portfolios, and directly contribute to the growth and success of PBS Wisconsin's Major Individual Gifts unit.

This position operates within PBS Wisconsin's Development Department and reports to the Managing Director of Individual Giving. You'll supervise the Individual Giving Associate, ensuring seamless gift processing, donor communications, and data management. As a leader within the team, you'll oversee the administration of key fundraising software and portfolio management systems, conduct donor research, and collaborate with colleagues to drive cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship initiatives.

To excel in this role, you'll bring a combination of technical proficiency, organizational skills, and interpersonal communications. An ability to manage databases, and analyze donor data will be essential, as will your ability to supervise staff.

Responsibilities: Assists in the planning, promotion and execution of development events, leads the creation and updating of informational materials, interacts with stakeholder groups to cultivate and maintain relationships, and leads reporting efforts on the effectiveness of development activities of the unit.
  • 10% Assists with the development of strategic planning initiatives and objectives, program budgets, and monitors activity to ensure adherence to established guidelines
  • 25% Collects, prepares, and analyzes donor information and event data and provides subsequent recommendations for improvement and enhancement
  • 10% Schedules logistics and secures resources for event and program activities, facilities, participants, and vendors adhering to established timelines and expectations
  • 25% Assists with the design, development, and delivery of marketing and communication materials and other event publications to promote development events and programs
  • 10% Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders at meetings and activities to advocate for and promote the interests of the unit
  • 7% Manages execution of Individual Gifts program administration, maintaining the quality of donor database records and standards of accuracy, timeliness, and efficiencies of data entry, donor communications, and gift acknowledgement processes
  • 7% Identifies, promotes, and maintains donor relationships and identifies solicitation opportunities specifically designed for the generation of mid-level gifts ($1,000 ) to reach program funding goals
  • 6% Exercises supervisory authority, including managing conduct and performance and/or approving hours worked of at least one FTE or equivalent employee

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with databases and spreadsheet software.
- Demonstrated ability in providing administrative support such as mail merges, organizing and maintaining files, financial reporting, and mass communications.
- Experience planning, coordinating, and/or executing event logistics or scheduling.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in fundraising development or customer service.
- Experience supervising, leading, or directing the work of others.
- Understanding of systems of portfolio-based moves management including donor research, cultivation, and stewardship methods, processes, and best practices.
- Experience in the design, development, and delivery of marketing and communication materials.

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

This position will be a hybrid position with a minimum of two days per week in person in Madison, WI. Additional flexibility in the future is possible. In-person meetings and events may require additional in-person attendance. This position may also work some evening and weekend shifts as needed.

Salary:

Minimum $58,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
Expected salary range for this position is high $50,000s to mid $60,000s. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays, and paid time off; competitive insurances and savings accounts; and retirement benefits.
