About the Position:
This position is a part of our Physical Plant department within the Facilities Planning and Management Division at UW-Madison. The MVO-Light position will be responsible for transporting trade workers, tools and materials across the UW-Madison campus as well as some UW-Madison properties off campus. The expected shift for this position will be 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
About the Campus Services Department (within the Physical Plant):
Campus Services is a multifaceted department which provides a myriad of services to the campus. Truck Services delivers approximately 300 trades workers, along with their tools and equipment, per week to job sites all across campus. Campus Mail sorts and delivers over 14,000 pieces of interdepartmental mail per week along with the delivery of U.S. postal mail to 37 buildings daily.
Campus Services also has a team of Facility Repair Workers who perform functions such as departmental moves of furniture and equipment, window washing, and construction clean-up. In addition to playing an important role in the set-up and tear down for UW commencements and other large-scale events, they also provide a table and chair rental and delivery service for numerous smaller campus events. As a flexible and efficient labor force, they also provide support to various trade shops.

The Division of Facilities Planning& Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of UW-Madison in the university's education, research, and outreach activities. We are responsible for everything from the building projects that change the face of campus to the flowers that beautify the grounds.

Responsibilities:
Operates institutional vehicles which transport packages, material, and/or personnel in a pick up and delivery capacity to support university transportation needs.- 50% Picks up and delivers freight to and from internal and external affiliates as directed
- 35% Operates vehicles and other equipment; and navigates vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic in congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and parking lots
- 5% Unloads, stages, inspects, and inventories freight to ensure accuracy and acceptable condition according to established rules and regulations
- 5% Inspects, maintains, and repairs vehicles daily based on established requirements
- 5% Identifies and reports damaged equipment and products to the appropriate entities

Qualifications:
- 2 years experience driving pickup trucks, stake body trucks, or enclosed box trucks in work environment
- Operation of heavy equipment or farm equipment
License/Certification:
Required
Drivers License - Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards

The minimum hourly rate for this position is $19.50, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
