Position Summary:

The Department of Engineering and Engineering Technology at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level beginning fall 2025. UW Oshkosh is searching for outstanding candidates who can add to the existing research and teaching strengths and be a leader of the new Automation Engineering (AE) efforts. As a new and perspective AE program, the successful candidate will have a tremendous opportunity to shape the program and exert leadership in a collegial and growing department.

Our students are a mix of traditional and non-traditional age, including many first generational college students. Students have neighborhood access to UW Oshkosh with expanded program options and opportunities on a beautiful student-centered campus with sustainable high-tech facilities, small class sizes, more than 180 student organizations and so much more.

Responsibilities Teach courses as required in the Department of Engineering and Engineering Technology, establish an active research program in an area of automation engineering, and contribute to professional service activities at the department, campus, and national level.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Ph.D in an engineering discipline with a focus in automation engineering or a closely related field in manufacturing processes. Degree must be conferred by the start date. Official transcripts showing conferment must be provided prior to starting work.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred:
  • Demonstrated ability to teach courses in automation engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, design problems, robotics, and/or programming/computing.
  • Demonstrated ability to form productive collaborations with both internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish an active research program.
  • Demonstrated experience fostering an inclusive learning, research, service, and/or outreach environment.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with external partners to help enhance the existing program offerings (teaching and/or research) of the university.
