Residence Life Coordinators (RLCs) are professional staff members responsible for creating a comprehensive residence life program in their respective geographical area that typically consists of two to four residence hall complexes. RLCs are passionate and committed live-in, student affairs generalists, who are charged with creating inclusive communities that support the academic and polytechnic mission of the institution. RLCs are expected to be visible to residents, engage in personal interactions, and provide leadership and mentorship. Key responsibilities of the position include supervision and operational duties, as well as planning and management. Supervision may include undergraduate and graduate student employees (depending on placement). Successful candidates will have demonstrated skills in student and community development including the intersectionality of identities.

Minimum annual starting salary: $47,000 (includes housing accommodations)

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum / Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR equivalent education and work experience by employment start
  • Previous full or part time work experience in student affairs at an institution of higher education

Highly Desired

  • Master's degree in higher education, counseling, social work, psychology, organizational development or closely related field
  • Previous live-in professional housing experience
  • Supervisory skills that demonstrate an ability to effectively support and challenge staff members

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

University Housing at the University of Wisconsin-Stout is committed to working with students, colleagues, and families to provide secure and well-maintained communities that inspire discovery, reflection, and lifelong learning. We are an auxiliary operation which provides housing to approximately 3,000 students across nine residence halls. Living on campus is required through the second year of college with students residing in traditional and suite-style buildings within dedicated first-year experiences and living environments for students in their second year and beyond. Our programming model emphasizes personal interactions, life skill development, academic success, and cultural humility. Candidates who have working knowledge within or can contribute to these focus areas are encouraged to share more about these experiences.
