Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team at a busy Multi specialty Ophthalmology practice . The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and enhancing the patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Manage medical scheduling, ensuring appointments are booked efficiently and accurately.
- Handle phone systems to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and provide information about services.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before patient visits.
- Utilize Athena health software for patient management and medical billing processes.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with privacy regulations and clinic policies.
- Assist with general medical administrative support tasks as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical or Ophthalmology private practice is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical billing practices and insurance verification processes.
- Proficiency in using phone systems and electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Athena health & EyeMD
- Strong typing skills, including 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
- Knowledge of documentation review processes and attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks effectively.
