Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of the Disruption Lab for Innovation, plays a critical role in the coordination of co-curricular initiatives for the Disruption Lab at Gies College of Business and management of programming for the Disruption Lab including student projects program, internal/external relationships, and event planning.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assistant Director
- Manage the Disruption Lab Student Projects Program by mentoring the Student Directors and the Student Leadership Team, overseeing recruitment and retention of student members, supporting all projects, event planning and execution, ensuring a positive culture of 200 student members.
- Assist with managing the Disruption Lab budget.
- Interact with internal and external partners.
- Work closely with the Director of the Disruption lab with responsibility for activities/programs within the Disruption & Innovation Unit (D&I) including strategic planning and special projects. Collaborating with the Director with the development and management of other student-centered projects/programs within D&I, as applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
Associate Director
- Manage and oversee the Disruption Lab Student Projects Program by mentoring the Student Directors and the Student Leadership Team, overseeing recruitment and retention of student members, supporting all projects, event planning and execution, ensuring a positive culture of 200 student members.
- Assist with managing the Disruption Lab budget.
- Interact with internal and external partners.
- Oversee activities/programs within the Disruption & Innovation Unit (D&I) including strategic planning and special projects. Collaborate with leadership on the development and management of other student-centered projects/programs within D&I, as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
Assistant Director
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three (3) years of work experience with emerging technologies in the consulting, corporate, or academic environment.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
Associate Director
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five (5) years of work experience with emerging technologies in a consulting, corporate, or academic environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams to design and implement technology-driven projects that included responsibility for meeting project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Experience conducting research and analysis of emerging technologies and their impact on the organization's industry, market, and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Assistant Director
- MBA or other related field.
- At least five (5) years of experience with emerging technologies in the consulting, corporate, or academic environment.
Associate Director
- MBA or other related field.
- Experience developing and implementing strategies for adopting emerging technologies in the organization's operations, products, or services.
- Experience identifying opportunities for innovation and recommending new solutions to enhance the organization's competitiveness and efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, energy and enthusiasm for working with students.
- Ability and desire to collaborate and partner, and an ability to relate with corporate executives and entrepreneurs.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 5/1/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
