The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning is accepting applications for a Technology Support Specialist to work with CITL instructional design teams, learning management systems (LMSes), and faculty to prepare online courses for reoffering ("term prep"). This position works closely with departmental program directors to handle the term prep of CITL's previously-developed online courses. The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for staying current with campus-supported educational technologies with an eye toward increasing the efficiency of the role and for assisting with the technical support offered to faculty of online courses. This position also supplies support to currently running online courses and to faculty in regards to supporting their use of the various learning management systems and related technologies.Duties & Responsibilities -
- Work with instructors to prepare existing, fully-developed online courses to be offered again. Develop and revise online resources including tutorials, technical documentation, and related web content. Attend course planning meetings as needed and provide follow-up support for teaching technologies.
- Provide ongoing support to instructors during the delivery of their online course. Provide troubleshooting and in-room classroom technology support as needed.(
- Continuously enhance and streamline the process of preparing an existing, fully developed online course to be offered again.
- Updates educational materials such as lectures, quizzes, surveys, assessments, and instructional pages for currently running online courses.
Additional Physical Demands
The mission of Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) is to provide leadership for reflective and responsive teaching, educational innovation, and professional development. In collaboration with academic units of the campus, CITL designs, plans, and implements credit and noncredit programs offered to diverse audiences. This position resides within Instructional Support Team, the division responsible for supporting and assisting faculty who are teaching online courses using a variety of instructional delivery methods.
Minimum Qualifications -
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- One year in education, training and/or work experience working with content or managing course sites within Learning Management Systems such as Canvas and Moodle.
Preferred Qualifications -
- Master's Degree or higher.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Experience administering Collaborate or other web conferencing systems.
- Experience taking a fully-online course as a student.

Experience with automation tools.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Salary is commensurate with experience. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
