Position Summary:
Coordinate and maintain the inventory control system to include accuracy, storage, issuance and inventory of equipment, materials and supplies. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
- CHARGEABLE ITEMS - Ensure patient chargeable items are assigned charge codes and tagged accordingly; enter data into computer; input corrections and updates; verify data for accuracy and completeness
- COMMUNICATION - Keep the reporting Director advised of major problem areas as they arise
- INVENTORY - Maintain and coordinate PAR levels to include standardizing products where appropriate; utilize appropriate systems for reporting, ordering and delivering of materials and supplies; may stock and order inventory as necessary
- INVENTORY - Plan and coordinate physical inventory activities; maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting and adjustment. Oversee data entry into Ross system and assist to control Hospitals inventory using GEMBASE THIN Clinic; generate and review Pyxis reports
- LIAISON - May serve as a liaison and provide information and assistance as appropriate
- MEETINGS - Attend Product Standardization Committee meetings
- DEVELOPMENT - Attend and participate in professional meetings and committees; stay abreast of new trends and innovations
- PRODUCT - Maintain accurate product descriptions, numbers and units of measure in applicable computer systems
- PROCESS IMPROVEMENT - Identify areas of system errors, duplications, imbalances, possible procedural deficiencies and recommend solutions providing for operational adjustments for effective system operation
- PRODUCT - Maintain product catalogs
- RECORDS & REPORTS - Maintain records and logs; develop reports as required; identify, recommend and implement approved corrective measures (including cycle counts)
- RELATED WORK - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
