The UNM Medical Group, Inc is seeking an Full-time Patient Services Coordinator to work in our Patient Financial Services Department of the UNM Cancer Center.
Minimum $35,339 - Midpoint $43,451*
*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
This position is critical to the overall success of the department by meeting established job requirements and performance goals in a very demanding and high producing clinic environment all while addressing and meetings the needs of the patients and/or physicians.
**Preferred but not required: Knowledge of IDX and/or Soarian billing systems Payment and adjustment processes Knowledge of rules governing primary/secondary Insurance Knowledge of working denied Services.
Summary
- Performs prior authorizations, handles denials, and provides financial counseling, demonstrating knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
- Requires attention to detail and key entry accuracy in various tasks.
- Expected to cross-train and support other roles within the Patient Financial Services Division.
Minimum Job Requirements of a Patient Services Coordinator:
High school diploma or GED. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirements may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.
