To achieve our ambitious goals, we are looking for an experienced leader with a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), 3-5 years of teaching experience, and a proven track record of driving exceptional student and teacher outcomes. You must be passionate about growth, collaboration, and fostering a community committed to continuous improvement.

Accountabilities include and are not limited to:

• 96% of students passing all classes (On Track to Graduate)
• 90% Approaching | 60% Meets | 30% Mastered on STAAR/EOC
• 60% of Students with Disabilities attain “approaches” on STAAR
• 75% sub populations (Sw/D and/or ELL) meet Index 2 STAAR growth measure
• 95% Student Persistence
• 90% Teacher Retention
• 97.5% Average Daily Attendance for students

Responsibilities

•  Build a culture of excellence and joy: Cultivate an engaging and rigorous school culture among leaders, teachers, students, families, and staff.
• Foster meaningful relationships: Create authentic connections with students, families, and staff to inspire trust and investment in the school community.
•  Drive academic excellence: Use a data-driven approach to manage academic outcomes, ensuring students meet or exceed performance goals in all subject areas.
• Coach and lead teachers: Provide ongoing feedback and support through daily observations, data analysis, and coaching to improve teacher effectiveness and student outcomes.
• Plan and execute improvements: Analyze academic and cultural data to design and implement strategic plans that leverage teaching teams, leadership, and community partnerships.
• Model leadership and accountability: Set and maintain the standard for excellence in problem-solving, ownership, and commitment to student success.
•  Develop professional talent: Lead professional development initiatives to enhance staff skills, knowledge, and growth.
• Shape school culture: Help design and implement a consistent, school-wide behavior management system while fostering character development and a sense of community among students.
• Communicate with families: Establish transparent, trusting relationships with families to support student success and engagement.
• Innovate and improve: Identify opportunities for innovation and consistently reflect on practices to guide future decisions.

Qualifications

To thrive as an Assistant Principal at UPA, you will need:

• Deep content knowledge of core academic subjects.
• Strong ability to coach teachers on curriculum, instruction, and classroom management.
• Proficiency in analyzing data to drive decisions and achieve measurable results.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability to manage diverse situations in the school environment.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree preferred.

• 3-5 years of full-time teaching experience, with proven success in the K-12 setting.
• Experience in teacher leadership or school administration.
• Proven ability to manage and coach others to achieve results.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year, based on relevant experience.
• Performance Bonuses Available
