Garden Center Manager
Untiedt’s is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Garden Center Manager to lead the operations of our 6-month seasonal garden center. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Minnesota growing conditions, garden products, locally grown produce, a proven track record in retail management, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This role requires a high-energy individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead a team to success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee all aspects of garden center operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service.
· Lead, train, and motivate a team of seasonal employees to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting garden center environment.
· Ensure the quality and freshness of all plant and produce materials throughout the season.
· Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed.
· Manage cash handling and daily sales reports.
· Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
· Collaborate with other locations to ensure smooth operations and achieve overall business goals.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 year of experience in retail management capacity.
· Proven experience in managing and training teams.
· Demonstrated strength in problem-solving, customer service, and employee relations.
· Ability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed during peak season.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
· High energy level with the ability to provide strong leadership, train, delegate, and motivate staff.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Passion for gardening and a deep understanding of garden products.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous knowledge or work-related experience in garden center products such as plants, annuals, and perennials.
· Experience in the horticulture or agriculture industry.
· Proficiency with the Clover Point of Sale System.
Work Environment:
· Fast-paced, outdoor environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
· Requires prolonged standing and physical activity.
