What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Manufacturing Production Assistant position at Unwaffle?

Your role as a waffle cook is to assist with all phases of waffle production and packaging while upholding our brands highest standards in cleanliness. Depending on the day, this job entail working both independently and with a small team. Being organized and timely with experience working in a kitchen are a must. Having a Serve Safe or similar credential is helpful for upholding all aspects of maintaining a safe and healthy food production environment. The role will include:
- Managing equipment and inventory for food production and packaging.
- Setup, production and thorough cleanup and sanitation of all work areas.
- Maintenance and upkeep of ingredient ands packaging supply inventories, informing of reorder needs.
- Safe food handling practices.
- An eye for all details of our processes.
The right person for the job will have:
- An interest in any of the following: health, nutrition, fitness, parenting and outdoor activities!
- High trustworthiness and responsibility with regard to time management, safety, cleanliness and inventory management.
- Reliability to arrive on-time and be present at work.
- Ability to not touch a phone for hours at a time.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (with the Unwaffle team, our vendor partners, and our customers and prospective customers)
- Flexibility and ability to work well with others and take constructive criticism seriously and with grace.
- The ability to stand for several hours, setup equipment and be able to physically move ingredients, often in excess of 50lbs without assistance.
Position details:
- Part-time starting at 8-24 hours/week, lots of flexibility in schedule with daytime hours in the 6:00am-6:00pm.
- $20/hr starting wage, DOE
- Must be willing to work shifts of 8 hours.
- Retail, retail foodservice, and/or merchandising experience is a bonus, but not necessary.
- Additional work hours in online order fulfillment are available, and the ability and interest to cross over into these roles is highly preferred.
