Information Technology / Systems Technician

Up and Running (UAR) provides full service IT support and managed services to commercial and residential clients. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our customers’ technology infrastructure, including Windows environments, network infrastructure, phone systems and surveillance systems. As a Systems Technician, you will play a key role in supporting both on-site and remote users, resolving technical issues and deploying new equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and replace PC hardware components.
• Install, maintain, and support Windows desktop and server environments.
• Troubleshoot and install Windows operating systems for end users.
• Assist in preparing and installing network equipment, including routers, switches, and access points.
• Configure and maintain network settings, including DNS, DHCP, routing, and VLANs.
• Perform network and phone wiring for new installations and upgrades.
• Set up and deploy printers, copiers, IP phones, cameras, and other technology devices.
• Assist with IP phone system and surveillance system installations.
• Provide remote support, including handling password changes, user account management, new computer setups, and software upgrades.
• Document issues, solutions, and procedures in the ticketing and documentation system.
• Ensure all user interactions and system changes are recorded accurately for future reference.
• Work closely with team members to identify and implement process improvements.
• Communicate effectively with non-technical users to resolve issues and provide training as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• 2 years of experience in the IT field, with a focus on computer and network support.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in diagnosing and replacing PC hardware components.
• Comfortable troubleshooting and installing Windows operating systems.
• Fundamental understanding of DNS, DHCP, routing, and VLANs.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365/Entra environments.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively support users at all levels.
• Highly organized with effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

• Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or equivalent.
• Experience with IP phone systems and IP surveillance cameras.
• Experience with common tools used for cabling installations and mounting equipment such as drills, saws, ladders.

Compensation:

• Salary commensurate with experience
