Updater is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Sales to drive revenue growth, cultivate strategic relationships, and champion our portfolio of products in a fast-paced, startup environment. This role requires a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure clients receive best-in-class solutions. You will own the end-to-end sales cycle and play a critical role in building and strengthening our market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Sales Ownership
- Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities within assigned industries or territories.
- Manage the complete sales process—from initial outreach and discovery to contract negotiation and closing.
Client Relationship Building
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their business challenges and presenting tailored solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all sales-related matters, ensuring a seamless handoff to and close collaboration with the Customer Success Manager for day-to-day account needs.
Pipeline & Forecast Management
- Maintain accurate pipeline data in the CRM; regularly update forecasts to reflect changing prospects and deal statuses.
- Meet or exceed individual and team revenue goals by consistently executing on a strategic sales plan.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing to align on lead generation strategies and campaign execution.
- Partner with Product, Operations, and Customer Success teams to deliver seamless onboarding and post-sale support.
Market Expertise & Thought Leadership
- Stay current on industry trends, market movements, and competitive insights to position Updater’s offerings effectively.
- Provide feedback to Product and Marketing teams on emerging customer needs and market opportunities.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Utilize sales metrics to measure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
- Prepare regular updates on sales pipeline, forecasts, and key wins for leadership review.
Travel & On-Site Engagement
- Expect to travel once or twice a month for in-person client meetings, industry events, or internal strategy sessions.
- Represent Updater in a professional, solutions-oriented manner, building rapport and trust with prospects and clients.
Qualifications
- Multi-family: Proven experience working with key multifamily stakeholders, preference working closely with the NMHC top 50.
- Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability to prospect, manage complex sales cycles, and close deals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; adept at delivering compelling presentations and product demos.
- CRM Proficiency: Familiar with Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar CRM platforms for pipeline management.
- Results-Driven: Proven track record of exceeding sales targets, along with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Collaboration: Team player with experience partnering cross-functionally to drive client success.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic, startup environment with shifting priorities.
Compensation
This posting is anticipated to remain open until May 21, 2025. The new hire OTE for this position is $210,000-260,000 annually. Factors which may affect the starting pay within this range include skills, experience, and other qualifications aligned with Updater's internal leveling guidelines.
