Compensation: Commission-Only ($130K–$190K Potential)

Reports To: CEO, Uplevel Communication

Our programs are delivered through 1:1 coaching, small group training, and strategic events. With a growing national reputation, we are now expanding our event-driven growth channel — and we’re hiring a Business Development Manager to lead the way.

Role Summary

This is a commission-only, high-impact role for someone who thrives on building strategic relationships and owning the top of the sales funnel.


The Business Development Manager will be responsible for sourcing, managing, and expanding our event-based lead generation system. You’ll open doors for our CEO and emerging team to speak on stage, negotiate opportunities with organizations and groups, and help create events that drive qualified leads to our sales team.

You’ll have full ownership of the event strategy and revenue sourced through these initiatives, with generous tiered commissions and performance bonuses.

Key Responsibilities


1. Build & Own a Strategic Event Channel
  • Proactively identify, pitch, and secure events where Uplevel can speak, train, or host
  • Develop relationships with HR leaders, event organizers, BNI-type networks, conference hosts, and decision-makers
  • Position Uplevel as a top-tier partner for professional development through personalized, consistent outreach
  • The key here is creating and maintaining relationships where we can serve them and they can open up doors to sell to them.


2. Manage 4 Distinct Event Types

You’ll be responsible for sourcing, executing, and maximizing results across four types of events:


  • Corporate Trainings: One-hour complimentary sessions delivered to corporate teams, with a soft “sell-from-stage” close. Lower conversion rate but high credibility.


  • Networking Events: Appearances at professional groups (e.g., BNI, Chambers, Meetups). Mid-level conversion and relationship development opportunities.


  • Stage Events: Speaking opportunities at conferences, summits, and events where Uplevel is featured but not paid. Higher cost to execute, but strong brand impact.


  • Internal Events: Uplevel-hosted workshops where we provide free value and then enroll people in training programs. High conversion potential, but requires coordination, planning, and promotion.


You’ll help prioritize, plan, and evaluate which event types should be scaled month to month.


3. Own Relationships from Outreach to ROI


  • Establish systems for relationship nurturing, including CRM notes, strategic follow-up, and referral asks
  • Develop repeatable partnerships with high-leverage organizations and individuals
  • Be known as a primary contact of Uplevel in outreach and early-stage event collaboration


4. Coordinate Logistics with Support
  • Manage event-related communication, pre-event onboarding, and handoff to speaker team on the day of the event.
  • Leverage VA support (already in place) for scheduling, prep, and follow-up tasks
  • Ensure every event has a clear flow from invite to booking to conversion


5. Track Revenue & Performance
  • Monitor event performance and attributed revenue using our CRM and tracking tools
  • Report quarterly results and surface opportunities to improve lead quality, event ROI, or conversion processes


Compensation & Incentives

Initially, this role is commission-only with tiered earnings designed to reward initiative and performance.


Year 1: Launch Ramp-Up PlanTarget Year 1 Comp: $130K–$140K
  • 12% commission on first $300K in sourced revenue
  • 14% commission on revenue above $300K
  • $10,000 quarterly bonus for every $125K sourced
  • $1,000 bonus per qualifying internal/stage event (generates $25K revenue, fully coordinated by you)
  • $25,000 365-day bonus if you source $500K in your first year


Year 2 : Performance Scaling Target Year 2 Comp: $155K with uncapped upside
  • Same tiered commission (12% / 14%)
  • Quarterly bonus reduced to $7,500 for $250K sourced
  • Event execution bonus removed
  • $25,000 annual milestone bonus for $1M source


What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • 3 years experience in strategic outreach or B2B sales
  • Proven ability to create new opportunities through cold and warm outreach
  • Track record of managing multiple relationship cycles simultaneously
  • Experience negotiating and selling
  • Building relationships and not coming across sales-y
  • Highly self-motivated — you don’t need permission to make progress
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — persuasive, warm, and clear
  • Ability to use or learn CRM tools, spreadsheets, and project trackers

  • Training on Uplevel's offer, pitch process, client success stories, and sales language
  • CRM system and tools for tracking event pipeline, outreach status, and attribution
  • Coaching and guidance from the CEO during onboarding and strategic alignment meetings



Salary : $130,000 - $140,000
