Primary Purpose:

The Road to College and Career Tech Career Services Software Engineer Intern will support the Tech Career Services team and/or other department teams in planning and executing summer strategic priorities, programs and initiatives. This role will be based out of the Uplift CMO Dallas office but may offer flexibility of remote work (determined by intern lead). Review and built AI based tool to complement tech career advising.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with department teams to develop AI counseling assistant and career support initiatives
  • Support with planning, implementation, and execution of department tech event
  • Other project-based duties as assigned


Education, Experience, And/or Certification(s)

  • Education Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or expected graduation date between December 2025 and December 2027. May substitute equivalent work experience for degree preference. AI or Computer Science/Engineering focus.
  • Experience Requirements:
    • Prior experience in a fast-paced college/career environment preferred
  • Special Skills:
    • Interest in artificial intelligence or organizational efficiency
    • Use case analysis and ability to apply entrepreneurial vision in a traditional environment
    • Be a team player – someone comfortable planning with others to achieve a common vision
    • Ability to take feedback well and implement changes immediately
    • Detail-oriented and self-directed
    • Initiator, problem-solver, and creative thinker


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Communication Skills:
    • Ability to communicate verbally, in writing and in group settings. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, scholars, and outside stakeholders. Data structures and systems thinking.
  • Bilingual Skills:
    • Preferred
  • Technology:
    • Python, JS/React, Java, C, C or other programming languages. Ability to perform Microsoft Office applications. The ability to learn and use other software as necessary.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and use the wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time

Work Environment:

Occasional district-wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.

Salary: $17/hr.
