Behavioral Health Therapy Supervisor - Outpatient

Job Description

UPMC is hiring a Behavioral Health Therapy Supervisor for Western Behavioral Health at Mon Yough in McKeesport. This role involves providing clinical and administrative supervision to behavioral health therapists and acting as a senior member of the therapy team.

This position requires a balance of clinical expertise and administrative skills to ensure effective service delivery and patient care.

Responsibilities :

• Build the group therapy component of the Outpatient Mental Health Department.
• Carry a small caseload and provide clinical services about 10% of the time.
• Offer licensure supervision and crisis intervention.
• Conduct assessments, create treatment plans, and provide individual and group therapy.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Direct and assign daily work of therapists, perform annual reviews, and enforce policies.
• Support recruitment, coordinate new admissions, and supervise daily clinical activities.
• Meet regularly with the director to review cases and address issues.
• Assume leadership in the director's absence to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Provide staff training and participate in system-wide training initiatives.
• Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
• Five years of clinical experience diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions required.
• Two years of demonstrated progressive leadership experience required.
• Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) or Doctorate in Psychology required.
