\nIn this role, there is the opportunity to -
\n- \n
- Monitor pneumatic tube and courier deliveries to ensure timely specimen processing. \n
- Investigate and resolve specimen issues, including requesting assistance when needed. \n
- Complete quality forms for unacceptable specimens or errors and escalate issues as necessary. \n
- Centrifuge samples, label aliquot tubes, and store samples at appropriate temperatures as per policy. \n
- Enter specimen receive times and requisition details into the computer system. \n
- Answer all telephone inquiries regarding specimen collection, results, and normal ranges. \n
- Verify patient specimens with requisitions or labels to ensure accuracy before processing. \n
- Demonstrate a service-oriented approach by maintaining courtesy, respect, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude in all work situations. \n
Required
\n- \n
- High School diploma or equivalent \n
- Good oral and written communication skills \n
- Ability to communicate effectively with all age groups and populations of external and internal customers (as well as co-workers) both by telephone and in person \n
Preferred
\n- \n
- Experience in a clinical laboratory, physician's office, or other medical environment \n
- Knowledge of or experience in Medical Terminology and Laboratory Information systems \n
- Experience in a service environment including call center, customer service center, or product distribution/fulfillment center \n
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
