UPMC McKeesport is currently looking to hire a part-time Messenger Escort to primarily work an evening shift but will need to be available for a day shift as needed. This position will also have weekend and holiday responsibility.

Purpose:
Performs safe and efficient transport of patients and/or wheeled equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Transport, transfer, and position patients safely.
- Comply with safety policy and procedures including standard precautions.
- Respond promptly to patient (customer) requests and appropriately communicate needs to RN and/or other healthcare personnel.
- Examples include but are not limited to: checking for appropriate patient identification, knocking on patient doors before entering rooms, monitoring wheeled equipment for safe use, keeping hallways clear of equipment and returning equipment.
- Ensure equipment malfunctions are reported to the appropriate department.
- Promote patient safety, confidentiality, and privacy.
- Strictly adhere to all policies and practices relative to patient care and hospital related information.
