This position is full-time, Monday- Friday 7am-3pm. Previous patient care experience required.
Title and Salary will be determined based upon education and experience.
Purpose: The Patient Care Technician - Specialist provides routine patient care and supports departmental services according to established policies and procedures. They perform core patient care tasks such as ADLs, point-of-care testing, vital signs, and specimen collection. Additionally, they handle more advanced tasks like IV and Foley catheter insertion/removal, phlebotomy, and complex wound care. They must complete training and annual competencies and may also perform advanced skills like basic arrhythmia monitoring, 12 lead EKGs, and NG tube management based on departmental needs.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates effectively with the healthcare team.
- Supports workplace safety. Maintains professional relationships.
- Performs core nursing assistant tasks including ADLs, point of care testing, and specimen collections.
- Performs advanced skills such as IV catheter insertion/removal, Foley catheter insertion/removal, phlebotomy, and complex wound care.
- Assists with physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies. Provides patient and family instruction.
- Adheres to policies and procedures. Constructively receives feedback. Identifies learning needs.
- Participates in projects and supports department initiatives. Transports cardiac monitored patients.
- Documents in medical records. Completes clerical functions.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary : $18 - $27
