UPMC Hamot is hiring a Patient & Family Concierge to join 8 South Neurology!
Purpose: The Patient & Family Concierge provides compassionate service and support to patients, families, and visitors during their hospital stay. Their main goal is to ensure a top-notch experience for everyone involved. The Concierge's duties vary based on the hospital's needs and may include coordinating patient and visitor destinations, assisting with environmental services, dietary needs, patient transport, and managing supplies and equipment. Their focus remains on patient and guest satisfaction and quality of care from start to finish.
Title and Salary will be determined based upon education and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and families warmly, provides directions and escort assistance.
- Disseminates patient information while respecting confidentiality. Serves as a reference for visiting hours, directions, package delivery, and hospital policies.
- Issues courtesy parking discounts, free passes, and patient scooters. Assists with parking cashier functions and validates patient parking.
- Tracks patient belongings upon admission. Cleans, removes trash, empties linen hampers, and organizes assigned areas.
- Replenishes supplies, makes beds, and changes linens. Inspects and reports maintenance problems.
- Assembles and serves meals according to diet orders and patient requirements. Maintains food safety and quality, adheres to equipment operation procedures.
- Performs sanitation and delivers meal trays, ensuring proper patient identification. Transports patients, equipment, and lab specimens safely and accurately.
- Inspects and disinfects transportation equipment, records transportation data. Orders and organizes unit-specific supplies and equipment.
- Stocks patient rooms, supply areas, and maintains inventory logs. Answers unit phones, responds to call lights, and interacts with patients.
- Rounds hourly to ensure responsibilities are met, prints and distributes care plans. Prompts patient mobility and maintains resources.
- Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures. Follows mandatory reporting procedures for incidents affecting patient care.
- Exhibits UPMC Values and practices key behaviors in job responsibilities. Access to medications is limited to distribution to the nurse.
- Performs in accordance with all other system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary : $17 - $26
