The Project Manager will work collaboratively with Molecular & Genomic Pathology (MGP) leadership to coordinate and expand clinical molecular testing offerings to existing and new international and domestic clients.
The Project Manager will proactively work with internal and external teams and will take independent initiative with roles in product management, customer service, marketing, managed care, and educational projects.
The Molecular and Genomic Pathology Laboratory (MGP) is a dynamic state-of-the-art clinical laboratory that prides itself on providing the highest quality of patient care in the fields of inherited diseases, hematological malignancies, and solid tumors utilizing cutting edge molecular testing platforms and informatics approaches exemplified by next-generation sequencing.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, healthcare or science related experience, and the ability to manage shifting priorities
Responsibilities:
- Identify trends and process improvement opportunities across departments within operations.
- Become subject matter expert at clinical molecular test offerings to effectively and accurately communicate verbally or in writing clinical test purpose and technical details with internal and external clients, insurance companies, and domestic and international patients.
- Work directly with new clients to oversee onboarding, including aspects of contracting, sample collection and submission logistics, and institutional relationships.
- Support departmental efforts to market molecular tests, including drafting of marketing materials for domestic and international use, maintain and update related test websites, and creation and use of materials for client education.
- Summarize and effectively communicate updates to the MGP leadership and stakeholders on the status of progress with the relevant tasks.
- Manage international market growth to identify, triage, and procure new clients.
- Coordinate and oversee research projects utilizing clinical test offerings with internal and external team members.
- Other duties as assigned to support special projects from division leadership.
- Perform cost/benefit analysis
- Develop and implement key metrics to measure and report on progress of initiatives.
- Work with other managers to achieve efficiencies across integration of projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, this includes utilizing standard project documentation and methodology and project tracking and reporting procedures.
- Develop cross-functional, change management and implementation strategies; ensure that all of the participating parties have committed to effective implementation of the processes and procedures.
- Assist team members in resolving project problems, escalates issues when necessary, and facilities decision-making.
- Assure quality of information through business case and application level testing; validate test results to initial business needs.
- Provide concise and timely status reporting as required
- Monitor operating performance against regional and national benchmarks.
- Assist with achieving Operations division strategic goals as well as system strategic goals.
